I am currently studying Animal Science and Veterinary Bioscience at The University of Sydney. Where I have gotten to learn a lot of my animal handling skills with pets as well as livestock animals. I am a huge animal lover! I have grown up with pets my whole life and have a dog of my own back home, a 14 year old Golden Retriever named Goldy! I have a passion for animal conservation and welfare, I spent my half gap semester before coming to uni volunteering with elephants in Thailand. Not only was I able to work with elephants who were rescued but I was also exposed to many other animals at the conservation facility, including dogs. I also have volunteered in adoption services. With being a Vet student I have a lot of work experience in clinics, so I am aware of how to handle animals as well as how to give oral and topical medication. As well as my own experience with my own dog, I am aware of how to deal with pets in situations such as feeding, walks, baths and giving any medication.

How they act with other dogs. If they are reactive. If they have any health concerns/issues. Any allergies they may have. Overall, anything the dog may or may not like.
Whatever is best for the dog. If they are a younger more active dog I can take them on a 30+ minute walk to help them get their energy out. If they are a more senior or less energetic dog I won’t push the dog and take it for a 15-30 minute walk. I will probably need 5-10 minutes to when I’m picking up the dog for a walk. I will also stay back another 10 minutes after the walk to make sure they are settled in.
I will first assess the situation and stay calm. I will contact the owner once I have assessed the situation to get the owners input. If the owner is unreachable and the situation is serious and is required to have medical attention I will take the pet to the closest vet. 
I can take the pet to any nearby park.

I will inform the owner once I have arrived at their house by message. I will send the owners photos of their pet after the walk and informing them that their pet is home safe via message.
