Hi! I’m Josie, I’m 20 and live in the Sydenham/Taylors Lakes area with my boyfriend, where we’ve been living for almost a year. I grew up on farms my whole life, so animals have always been a huge part of my world. I’ve grown up around pretty much every animal you can think of - dogs, cats, horses, chickens, birds, farm animals and everything in between! Since moving to the city, I definitely miss having animals around every day, so I’d absolutely love the opportunity to give your pets their daily walks and/or some extra love and attention while you’re busy, away or just need a helping hand. I’m naturally very caring and genuinely love getting to know each animal’s individual personality and routine. Walking - Age, breed, size, temperament, energy level, walking experience, how they behave around other dogs/people, any pulling or reactivity, fears/triggers, health conditions or mobility issues, and anything else I should know to keep them safe and happy. Check ins - Their age, breed/species, personality and temperament, normal routine, feeding requirements, any medications or health conditions, how they are with other animals/people, any fears or triggers, and anything else that could affect their care. I’d also want to know about any special instructions or behaviours I should be aware of.
This depends on the service booked. For check-ins, I’ll spend around 30 minutes with your pet, making sure they’re fed, have fresh water, have some company/playtime and are comfortable before I leave. Dog walks will include the agreed walking time, with a little extra time for getting settled before and after.
If your pet becomes unwell or is injured, I’ll contact you immediately and follow your emergency instructions. If I’m unable to reach you and your pet needs urgent veterinary attention, I’ll take them to the nominated vet or the nearest appropriate emergency vet and keep you updated throughout. I’ll always prioritise your pet’s safety and wellbeing.
